PTA Fundraising Meet & Greets: A calm, meaningful way to raise funds for your school

School fundraising looks different now.

PTAs are under increasing pressure to raise essential funds — often with limited time, limited volunteers, and school communities that don’t always thrive in loud, high-energy events. Many are actively looking for fundraising ideas that feel inclusive, manageable, and genuinely worthwhile.

That’s where Scaly Safari’s PTA Fundraising Meet & Greets come in.

What is a PTA Fundraising Meet & Greet?

A PTA Fundraising Meet & Greet is a short, calm reptile experience designed specifically to support school fundraising — without turning the school hall into chaos.

Rather than a show or performance, this is a gentle, drop-in style experience where small groups of children and families can meet a carefully selected group of reptiles at their own pace. Children can watch, ask questions, or interact if they choose. There is never any pressure to touch.

PTAs usually run the session as donation-based fundraising, with all proceeds going directly to the school.

Designed for real school settings

These sessions work particularly well for:

  • Primary schools

  • Small or close-knit school communities

  • After-school or end-of-day PTA events

  • PTAs looking for alternatives to discos, fairs, or raffles

The format is intentionally simple and well-contained. Children come and go naturally, school staff remain present, and the experience stays calm, respectful, and manageable throughout.

A welfare-first, consent-led approach

Animal welfare and child consent sit at the centre of everything we do.

  • Animals are selected on the day based on suitability and environment

  • Sessions are paced to the children present, not a rigid timetable

  • Watching is always welcome; interaction is optional

  • Group sizes are small and regulated

  • All handlers are DBS-checked and fully insured

This approach not only protects the animals — it also creates a noticeably calmer experience for children, parents, and staff.

Not a workshop. Not a party. By design.

PTA Fundraising Meet & Greets are not curriculum-linked workshops, and they are not birthday parties. They are not designed to replace teaching time or structured learning.

Instead, they offer something different: a thoughtful, engaging experience that supports PTA fundraising while remaining calm, inclusive, and easy to host.

How bookings work

These sessions are offered by enquiry, rather than as an on-demand service.

Each request is reviewed to ensure the setting, timing, and expectations are appropriate for both the animals and the school community. If it’s a good fit, we’ll confirm details directly with the PTA.

A different kind of school fundraiser

We’ve seen how powerful fundraising can be when it doesn’t rely on noise, pressure, or spectacle — but instead on curiosity, care, and presence.

For many schools, these Meet & Greets stand out not because they’re loud, but because they feel considered.

If your PTA is looking for a calm, inclusive fundraising opportunity that genuinely engages children and families, we’d love to hear from you.
