For an hour, we'll bring a carefully selected group of the Scaly Safari Crew to you for a relaxed, interactive experience shaped around the children in the room.

They'll meet remarkable animals, learn the strange and brilliant things that make them tick, ask as many questions as they can think of — and get properly close where the animals are comfortable with it.

Educational? Absolutely. But they'll be far too busy having fun to notice.

We’ll bring a carefully curated selection of animals to your venue, and your guests will have the chance to get up close with species most people never see - let alone hold.

Our reptile party experiences aren’t just for children. Scaly Safari parties are also a unique option for adult birthdays, celebrations, and events.

Depending on the group size and ages, we usually bring a mix of snakes, lizards, invertebrates - and often a tenrec (a baby hedgehog-lookalike from Madagascar). The animals joining us are chosen carefully for each party, and their welfare always comes first. Read about how we work with our animals →

Whether you’re booking a venue or hosting a party at home (pyjama parties are a favourite), we adapt the experience to suit your space.

Where we go

We're based in Rhyl, North Wales, and regularly travel across North Wales, Cheshire, the surrounding areas...and beyond.

Your party. £250.

A private, one-hour Scaly Safari experience for your birthday child and their guests.

Your £250 booking includes:

  • A full 60-minute reptile experience

  • A carefully selected group of the Scaly Safari Crew

  • The session led by both Allen & Cerries

  • Plenty of opportunities to observe, interact, ask questions and get properly curious

  • All the equipment we need to safely deliver the experience

  • Setup and pack-down

£150 deposit secures your date, with the remaining £100 due one week before the party.

We're based in Rhyl, with travel included within 10 miles. Further afield? No problem — we'll calculate a travel fee based on your location before you book.

You invite the guests. We'll bring the reptiles.

Food, decorations, cake and the rest of the birthday celebrations are entirely up to you. We simply arrive, set up and take care of the Scaly Safari part.

We don't guarantee particular animals or an exact line-up. Who joins us is decided around the animals themselves, their welfare and what's appropriate on the day.

And nobody has to touch an animal to take part. Watching, asking questions and joining in from a comfortable distance are every bit as welcome.

  • We regularly provide reptile parties across Chester, Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester and throughout North Wales. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just get in touch—we’re always happy to help.

  • Our sessions are designed to work for all ages, but the sweet spot is typically around 8–12 years old. That said, we regularly run parties for younger children, teenagers, and even adults—each session is adapted to suit the group.

  • Not at all. Everything is completely optional. Some guests are keen to get hands-on straight away, while others prefer to watch from a distance—and that’s absolutely fine. We never pressure anyone to interact.

  • We bring a carefully curated selection of reptiles and invertebrates, which may include snakes, lizards, and other fascinating species. The exact mix depends on the group, the setting, and the animals themselves on the day.

  • Our standard parties last around one hour, giving everyone plenty of time to engage with the animals without it feeling rushed. We’ll guide the flow of the session so it stays calm, engaging, and well-paced.

  • Both options work well. We regularly run reptile parties in homes, hired venues, and community spaces across Cheshire and North Wales. We’ll adapt the setup to suit your space.

  • Yes - Scaly Safari is fully licensed, insured, and DBS checked. We hold a local authority licence for animal exhibition and operate under a DEFRA Type 2 transport licence. Animal welfare and safety are at the core of everything we do.

  • We do. While many of our bookings are for children’s birthday parties, our experiences also work brilliantly for adult celebrations, private events, and gatherings where people are looking for something a bit different.
