Your child and a small group of their closest friends spend an hour immersed in a calm, guided animal experience. They’ll meet extraordinary creatures they’re unlikely to see anywhere else — from captivating snakes and friendly, curious lizards to fascinating invertebrates.
Every animal we bring has been carefully chosen for their temperament and personality. Children connect in different ways, and by the end, everyone leaves with a favourite.
Instead of managing noise or party logistics, you get to step back and watch your child experience something genuinely special — feeding a bearded dragon, noticing a scorpion glow softly under UV light, gently stroking a surprisingly friendly tarantula, or sitting quietly with a large snake resting calmly across their lap.

How it works
Maximum impact, minimal stress
This is a birthday party designed to feel special without feeling overwhelming — calm, low-key, and quietly unforgettable.
The party lasts around one hour, which we’ve found is the perfect balance: long enough to feel special, short enough to stay calm and engaged. There’s no pressure to organise party food, though many parents choose to put out a few simple snacks and drinks.
A calm, at-home setting
Most parties take place in your living room, where the space naturally feels relaxed and familiar. Children usually sit on sofas or cushions, creating a cosy setup that encourages calm attention rather than high-energy chaos. (If you’d prefer to hire a venue, you’re most welcome to - we can usually adapt to the space available, no matter where that is).
A small, thoughtful guest list
We recommend a maximum of 12 children — the birthday child and a few of their closest friends. This keeps the experience intimate and allows everyone time to truly connect, rather than rushing through.
Larger groups can be accommodated if needed, but this format is what works best, in our experience.
Carefully chosen animals
We bring a selection of incredible animals from the Scaly Safari Crew, thoughtfully chosen to suit the age of the children, the size of the group, and any preferences you share with us beforehand. This isn’t a conveyor belt of quick interactions. Each child has time with each animal, at their own pace. We guide the whole session, showing everyone how to interact safely and respectfully — and gently supporting children who may feel unsure at first.
All kinds of participation welcome (including parents)
Some children dive straight in. Others prefer to watch quietly. Both are completely okay. Participation is always optional, and every child leaves feeling they’ve experienced something genuinely special.
Parents and family members are also welcome to join in, or simply enjoy watching your child have a moment that feels meaningful and memorable.

A Scaly Safari Party is £250, which includes:
a fully guided animal experience for up to 12 children
all animals and equipment
calm, structured facilitation throughout
travel within 10 miles of Rhyl (travel beyond that may incur a small travel surcharge)
