Pretzel is a royal python, which means he has some very cool snake secrets.
They smell with their tongues
Royal pythons flick their tongues to collect tiny smells from the air.
They are expert curlers
When they feel unsure, they may curl into a ball to feel safe.
They like cosy spaces
A good hide helps a royal python feel calm and secure.
They are not slimy
Pretzel’s scales are smooth, dry and surprisingly soft.
Pretzel loves meeting calm, curious children — and sometimes he brings the rest of the Scaly Safari Crew with him too.
If you’d like Pretzel and his animal friends to visit for a birthday party, ask your grown-up to take a look at our party experiences.
A note for grown-ups
Pretzel’s Little Fan Club is designed as a gentle way for children to keep the connection going after meeting one of the Scaly Safari animals.
It is not designed to encourage children to rush into reptile ownership. Sometimes loving reptiles means learning about them, respecting them, and enjoying the magic of meeting them through experiences like this.
If your child is asking for a reptile of their own, we always recommend slowing down, asking the right questions, and making sure the animal, child, adult and home are truly ready.
